Rajasthan evokes
enduring images of a vibrant and colorful past, with gigantic forts
and magnificent palaces gracing every horizon. A thriving folk culture
expresses itself in an abundance of pageantry and color, with exuberant
festival, dances and music. Delhi is the originating point for this Tour. Delhi, being the Capital & one the most historical city of India, has a lot to offer. The Most popular monuments of Delhi include the Qutab Minar, Red Fort, Bahai Temple, India Gate etc. Udaipur, the City of Lakes is the next destination of our journey. In Udaipur, the visitor finds his dream of India come true for the city combines real beauty with picturesque associations of a great and glorious past. It stands in a valley, amid green hills on the banks of the wide, blue lake pichola. On little islands in the lake, from the water's edge, rise marble Palaces of pure white that glisten like fairy castles. One of the Major attractions of Udaipur is the Lake Palace Hotel, the Palace which was converted into a Heritage Hotel, located at Lake Pichola. Jodhpur, the Blue City, is the next destination & is located at the edge of the Thar desert and is the largest city in Rajasthan after Jaipur. The city is dominated by a massive fort, topping a sheer rocky ridge right in the middle of the town. Jodhpur was founded in 1459 by Rao Jodha, a chief of the Rajput clan known as the Rathores. His descendants ruled not only Jodhpur, but also other Rajput princely states. Jaisalmer, the City of Forts & Palaces is the next destination. Rising from the heart of the Thar Desert like a golden mirage is the city of Jaisalmer. A commanding fort etched in yellow sandstone stands with all its awesome splendour, dominating the amber-hued city. Jaisalmer is famous for its Fort, Palaces & Havelies. From Jaisalmer we proceed to Khimsar which is famous for the Fort. From Khimsar we reach Jaipur, the Pink City, where modernity and tradition live hand-in-hand. Perhaps this is what makes it an attractive destination for tourists who flock to Jaipur, year after year. The colourful and intricately carved monuments are adequately matched by the lively spirit of fanfare, festivity and celebration of the people. Even today, one can find weather beaten faces with huge colorful turbans, savage moustaches and lips that spontaneously a crease into a heart warming smile. From Jaipur, the Tour reaches Agra, famous for Taj Mahal. The famous monument of love. It was constructed by the Mughal Emperor, Shah Jehan in the memory of Mumtaj Mahal. The Taj Mahal is ethereal at any part of the day - blushing in the rosy glow of down or sunset , appearing like a pearly mirage in the moonlight or reflected in the pools of the garden . Perhaps the most moving view of the taj is from an octogonal tower in the Agra Fort further along the river yamuna . It was here that the emperor Shah Jehan was imprisoned and where he spent his last days gazing at the tomb of his beloved wife . Other popular places of travel in Agra include the Red Fort, Fatehpur Sikri & Sikandra. From Agra, we travel back to Delhi for onward Journey.
